What is a Family Caregiver?

A Family Caregiver is a family member who provides care to their loved one with an intellectual or developmental disability in the family home or community. Colorado has recently allowed program approved service agencies, like A Real Difference, to hire family members who meet the requirements of the companies employment regulations.

  • Contact your or your oved one's case manager from your respective Community Center Board (CCB).
  • Contact your or your loved one's residential agency.
  • Contact your or your loved one's day program if you/they attend one.
  • Contact your or your loved one's job coach if you/they have one.

Just about any trusted member of your or your loved one's team should be able to give you information on becoming a Family Caregiver!
